Detailed enquiries as to diet among toddlers and older children
have revealed, in many cases, sad deficiencies of first class fat. This
has been corrected, as far as possible, by providing cod liver oil preparations,
occasionally butter, as well as milk.
In some of the larger families inadequate sleeping accommodation,
and therefore sleep, is still an urgent problem.
The Invalid Children's Aid Association has continued its valuable
help, especially in the case of several children where long convalescence
of several months was indicated.
I should like to pay a tribute to the zeal and resource of the Health
Visitors' Staff. The cheerful appearance of the Clinics owes much to
their instructive models, displays and "Slogans," many of which show
evidence of expenditure of considerable thought, talent and time.
