INTRODUCTION.
School Medical Department,
Town Hall,
Tottenham.
March, 1936.
To the Chairman and other Members of the Tottenham
Education Committee.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the pleasure to submit my report on the School Medical Services
for the year 1935.
It follows generally the lines of the reports for the past four years.
Herein will be found an analytical statement of the year's work
with explanatory notes, where necessary, in their appropriate sections.
It will be noted that since my last report, by arrangement with the
Middlesex County Council, the secondary school children are now
privileged to participate in the benefits of dental and ophthalmic treatment
provided by your authority.
Orthopaedic treatment and remedial drill instruction for children
suffering from deformities have been revised and established on an entirely
new basis.
Towards the end of the year, plans were approved for the new
combined School Medical and Maternity and Child Welfare Departments
in Lordship Lane to replace the existing centre at Bruce Castle. Plans
were approved also for the complete remodelling of the convalescent
home at Hayling Island.
I thank your Committee for their continued generous support and
my staff for their loyalty and devotion to duty.
I am,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Yours faithfully,
