INTRODUCTION.
School Medical Department,
Town Hall,
Tottenham.
March, 1935
To the Chairman and other Members of the Tottenham
Education Committee.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The School Medical Report for 1934 is of the less detailed type.
Periodically—about once in five years—the Board of Education requires
an exhaustive report of all the activities comprehended in the School
Medical Services. The reports of the intervening years are expected to
give particular information respecting new developments only and more
general information respecting the other work of the department. It is
expected that the report for 1935 will be of a comprehensive character.
At the end of the year your Committee is without a drill instructress
for children suffering from minor deformities and postural defects. In
filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Miss Moore, opportunity
is being taken of reviewing the whole field of orthopaedics and remedial
drill instruction in their application to school children attending
Tottenham schools, with a view of establishing that branch of the service
on the most approved foundations of science and practice.
I welcome this further opportunity of thanking your Committee and
my colleagues and staff for their co-operation and loyal assistance,
especially during the period of my enforced absence from duty.
I am,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Yours faithfully,
