The expectant mothers are placed by the Deanery Council in suitable
Mother and Baby Homes as early as can be arranged before confinement,
and induced to stay with, and feed their babies, as long as possible.
In some cases they pass on to hostels for mothers and babies, otherwise
a foster-mother is found, or the child is admitted to the day nursery
and the mother is helped to get work. In every case the mother is
encouraged to keep in close touch with her baby.
