Lunacy and Mental Treatment Acts.
Work undertaken by the Mental Health Officers.
There is no change in the arrangements for obtaining the services of the Mental
Health Officers. A twenty-four hour rota system was in operation and calls for their
services after office hours continued to be made through Ambulance Control.
During the year, the Mental Health Officers carried out the following work and
visits in connection with these Acts:-
Calls received in connection with mental illness numbered 308 and were from:-
(a) General Practitioners 156
(b) (i) Goodmayes Mental Hospital 6l
(il) General Hospitals 22
(c) Other Agencies (police, relatives, etc.) 69

The total number of visits made was 680.
