meal consignees. Meat is treated by indelible colour and in other
ways before release.
It may be noted that considerable quantities of condemned
frozen and chilled meats, tinned tongues and beef were discovered
at a charcoal maker's in West Ham. Representations were made
to the local authorities concerned, and such meat is now only
released to approved firms who possess plant capable of dealing
efficiently and rapidly with it.
Supervision of foods (exclusive of milk products).
Condemnation of unsound food. During the year 1937,
the following articles of food were condemned: 202 lbs. tinned
