[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for West Ham]

Public Health Act, 1925. Section 62. The local authority
has power under this section to apply to a court of summary
jurisdiction for an order for the compulsory removal to a hospital
or institution of any person who is suffering from pulmonary
tuberculosis, and is in an infectious state, and is liable to spread
infection to others. No action was taken in this connection during
the year. The above-mentioned section has now been repealed
by section 172 of the Public Health Act, 1936, which came into
operation on 1st October, 1937.
