STATISTICS.
The general trend of incidence of and mortality from
tuberculosis is dealt with on page 110. The total number
of cas.es of tuberculosis on the register the corresponding date in
the previous year. This represents an increase of 32 cases.
There were added to the register during the year, on
account of fresh notifications and inward transfers, 407 cases. As
a result of death, removal from the area, or change in diagnosis,
375 names were removed from the register. (See 'Table X.)
Notifications. During the year, 301 cases of pulmonary
and 72 cases of non-pulmonary tuberculosis were formally notified,
making a total of 373 cases (212 males and 161 females). The
1936 figures were: pulmonary, 295; non-pulmonary, 60.
