under 40 years is high, and is accounted for almost entirely by
carcinoma of the lung or associated parts, by carcinoma of the
lower part of the large bowel, and by sarcomata of the bones and
other sites. Malignant tumours which caused death under 25
years of age were more common in males (5 deaths) than in
females (1 death).
