Public Analyst's Report.
Mr. Albert E. Parkes, F.I.C., F.C.S., who is part-time Public
Analyst to the Council, reports as follows:—
During the year 1936, 1,175 samples were examined under
the Food and Drugs (Adulteration) Act. These were submitted
by the Inspector.
No sample under the Act was submitted by the Public.
Fifteen samples were found to be adulterated, and forty-two
other samples were of inferior quality or doubtful purity.
The adulteration was at the rate of 1.28 percent. as compared
with 4.08 percent. for the whole of London and 5.5 percent.
