Examination of Milk.
Thirty samples of milk were taken from cow keepers and milk
purveyors (counter pans, churns and pails) for examination. Of
this number 15 samples were submitted for animal inoculation as
to the presence of tubercle bacillus, and 15 for bacteriological
examination for bacterial content, Bacillus Coli and extraneous
matter (special sterile bottles being- obtained from the Laboratory
for this purpose). Particulars of the examinations are as under :—

MICROSCOPICAL EXAMINATION.
Six samples were reported upon as containing Bacillus Coli
and organisms exceeding 100,000 per c.c., and five were found
to contain organisms exceeding 100,000 per c.c. In connection
with adverse reports the matter is taken up with the Vendor
with a view to tracing the source of contamination.
