Stratfcrd Day Nursery, Welfare Road.
A Day Nursery is an invaluable complement to a Maternity
and Child Welfare Scheme in a Borough where many of the
mothers are forced to go to work. The attendances at the Day
Nursery during 1928 were:—

A sum of 8d. per day is charged to the mothers.
Sunlight Clinic.
Treatment by artificial light was first started in West Ham in
1925 by the Women's League of Service for Motherhood, at the
Welfare Road Clinic. As a result of an arrangement made by
the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee of the Borough and
the Committee of the above League, two additional sessions
were established at the end of February, 1928, for artificial light
treatment under medical supervision. These children are referred
to the doctor in charge of the Light Clinic by the various Clinics,
through the Medical Officer of Health.
