Proprietary Welfare Foods
Infant Welfare Clinics held a stock of proprietary brands of welfare foods approved by the
Medical Officer of Health for sale to bona fide clinic attenders at reduced prices.
The sale of proprietary foods is undertaken by voluntary committees at all the clinics,
working in close co-operation with the health visitors. The small profit made by these
voluntary committees is used to further the work at the clinics.
The help given by voluntary workers not only in the sale of proprietary welfare foods but
in assisting at infant welfare and other clinics is greatly appreciated.
