CLEAN AIR ACT 1956-SMOKE CONTROL AREAS.
1968
Smoke Control Order No. 17 affecting part of Worcester Park and Smoke
Control Order No. 18 affecting part of North Cheam were confirmed by the
Minister of Housing and Local Government on the 27th March 1968 and became
operative on the 1st October 1968 and 1st December 1968, respectively.
This brought the number of areas in operation up to 18, covering an
area of 3,798 acres and affecting 25,445 dwellings.
In November, two further Orders (Nos. 19 and 20) affecting a total of
46l acres and 3,839 dwellings were made and submitted to the Minister for
confirmation.
