During the year 3 midwives and 6 district nurses attended refresher
courses, the Deputy Superintendent of Home Nurses and Midwives attended a
short course on management and 2 district nurses attended a practical
work instructor's course. 7 student district nurses completed their training
and all passed their qualifying examination.
33 pupil midwives undertook their three months training within the
Borough and 125 student nurses from hospitals were provided with opportunity
for observation visits together with 20 nurses who were doing obstetric nurse
training.
