MASS RADIOGRAPHY
The number of persons x-rayed by the Mass Radiography Unit
during its visit to sites in the Borough was more than doubled when
compared with the previous two years. Of the more serious conditions
discovered, four men were found to be suffering from Pulmonary
Tuberculosis and five men suffering from primary lung cancer.
Chest x-ray must always form a part of any screening programme
for otherwise healthy people and is an important part of the arrangements
which are made for well-person screening in the Borough.
I am indebted to the Director of the Unit for the following statistics:—
Total x-rayed | 11,888 (5,420) |
Males | 5,803 (2,380) |
Females | 6,085 (3,040) |
