CARAVANS
The Council, by proceeding under Section 57 of the Surrey County Council Act,
1931» now have Orders prohibiting the use of the land for the parking of moveable
dwellings within a radius of 880 yards of the sites at Cuddington Way, Cheam, and
Green Lane, Worcester Park.
On three occasions vans were found to have been parked on the land at
Cuddington Way and on one occasion on the land at Green Lane, Worcester Park.
Steps were taken to ensure their early removal.
FOOD AND DRUGS
Inspection and Supervision of Food Premises:
Three thousand, one hundred and sixty-four inspections of food premises were
made and 167 notices were served drawing attention to unsatisfactory conditions.
In addition, 175 complaints alleging adulteration or unsoundness of food were
investigated thoroughly, and three prosecutions taken during the year were for
tobacco in a loaf of bread - fine £25: mould on sausages - fine £20: and
dirt in milk bottle - fine £20 - with costs in each case.
Seventy-nine complaints were received regarding food which contained metal,
glass, insects, mould, oil, tobacco or other foreign matter, or was otherwise
unsatisfactory.
