In conclusion I wish to record my appreciation of the support,
tolerance and intense interest of the members of the Borough Council,
officers of other departments and my colleagues in the Health and Welfare
Department during the year. The full potential of the Authority in providing
closely integrated and efficient services for all those in need will not he
reached for a number of years; sufficient progress has, however, been made
to justify optimism. It is particularly encouraging to note the keen
desire of all those connected with the Authority's services in whatever form
and those responsible for all the voluntary and statutory services operating
within the Borough to achieve a standard of work of the highest order.
With this prevailing spirit I have no doubt that this goal will be achieved.
