In addition, one hundred and sixty persons received third doses, and
one thousand, two hundred and thirty three persons received fourth doses
during the year.
Acute Encephalitis. There were no cases in 1963.
Pneumonia. There were ninety three deaths from Pneumonia in 1963,
compared with fifty five in 1962. Thirty four cases of Pneumonia were
notified in 1963, compared with twelve in 1962. Nine cases were of
Influenzal Pneumonia.
Non-Notifiable Diseases. School teachers reported two hundred and
sixty four cases of Mumps, two hundred and fifteen cases of Chicken Pox
and nineteen cases of German Measles. School returns are a useful index
of the prevalence of non-notifiable diseases and are a basis for consultation
with the School Medical Officer.
Infestations. One suspected case of Scabies was treated during the
year.
International Certificates of Vaccination Nine hundred and thirty
eight International Certificates of Vaccination were scrutinised and
authenticated for eight hundred and eighty five persons during the course
of the year
