The incidence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis was 0.8 per thousand
persons examined, compared with 1.2 per thousand in the area
served by this X-Ray unit, which includes the County of Surrey.
The findings are an index of infection in a sample of the
population. They show the value of Mass Radiography in securing
diagnosis and treatment.
The incidence of cancer of the lung in this survey was 0.5
per thousand persons examined. If related to males only, there
was incidence of 1.2 per thousand males examined.
The finding of non-tuberculous abnormalities gives an
opportunity for advice and treatment and the prevention of
disablement.
