Remedial action was taken in twelve cases where the sanitary
conditions were not satisfactory, or certain contraventions of
and Regulations existed.
Forty-eight butchers premises are registered in accordance
with Section 14 of the Food and Drugs Act 1938 mainly for the
manufacture of sausages.
A further ten food premises are registered in connection
with the preparation of potted, pressed, pickled or preserved
foods.
Eighty-five cases of insanitary or defective conditions
found to exist in food premises other than butchers shops were
remedied.
