The manufacturers disclosed that they were also in correspondence with another Authority in connection with a similar type of infringement. It has been agreed that the firm will endeavour to obtain Ministerial approval to a proposed amended type of label which will satisfy all concerned.

The claim was not only misleading, but the proportions of vitamins (11 any) were not specified quantitatively in the nanner prescribed by the Labelling of Food Drder 1953This article is a prepacked Turkish product and sold in the same condition as received from the suppliers. The Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Pood have requested the Turkish Commercial Counsellor to advise the packers to amend the label for the food in question in order to comply with the labelling laws of this Country, in the meantime the retailers have arranged to sell the sultanas in packets after removal from the original cartons
