SMOKE ABATEMENT
The grit deposit gauges have been maintained in the North end
of the Borough.
The Sutton Works of the South Eastern Gas Board ceased to
make gas on the 30th September 1955.
It is yet too early to determine the resultant effect on grit
deposit in the vicinity of the Works.
No instances of black smoke from the few industrial chlmnles
have been observed.
