Drainage and Sewerage Work. is proceeding on the first
stage of the reconstruction of Worcester Park Sewage Disposal
Works, and it is anticipated that stage one of the scheme will
be complete before the end of 1955. Preparation for the succeeding
stages of reconstruction are now in hand.
A surface water relief sewer In Stoneleigh Avenue and
Sandringham Road was completed during the year, since when no
complaints of flooding have been received from this area.
Refuse Collection and Scavenging. The collection and
disposal of house refuse and salvage together with the scavenging
of public highways is carried out under the supervision of the
Borough Engineer and Surveyor. The work has been executed in a
satisfactory manner.
Rivers and Streams. The streams within the Borough have
been maintained in a satisfactory condition.
Closet Accommodation, There are four premises with cesspools
in use. Some six pall closets are in use. In the past twenty
six years. one hundred and sixty one premises. originally with
cesspool drainage,, have been connected to sewers.
