(2) 10% Test Baiting (1950-5I)
As previously, the Borough was divided into five sections,
and a test baiting of 10% of the soil-sewer manholes was carried
out during the month of September The test shewed a 7% increase
in the number of bait takes as compared with the previous year's
10% test
The results achieved were as under:-
District | Number of manholes baited | Complete bait takes | Partial bait takes | Baits not taken |
---|---|---|---|---|

First Maintenance Treatment (1950-51)
The treatment was completed on the 1st November 1950
Prebaiting with damped sausage rusks was carried out on
two consecutive days, and the same bait base with 2½% Zinc
Phosphide added was laid on the third day- District B which
shewed no takes in the 10% test was not baited The other
four Districts shewed a substantial increase in the number
of prebait takes as compared with the previous treatments.
The known kill was very satisfactory and a decrease in the
number of takes is anticipated in the treatment which will
be commenced in March 1951
