not satisfactory,, or certain contraventions of the
Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924, existed.
At the end of 1945, 54 premises had been registered in
accordance with Section 14 of the Food and Drugs Act, 1938.
The majority of the registered premises are concerned with
the manufacture of sausages only. Sixty cases of
insanitary or defective conditions in food shops generally
wore dealt with.
There it: one licensed slaughter-house in the district.
The only animals slaughtered during the year have been
56 pigs from pig clubs slaughtered under licences issued
by the Ministry of Pood.
