It has been possible to devote rather more attention to
sampling during the year under review, and, for the first time
during the war period, the number of samples generally
considered comparable with the population (3 per 1,000) has
been taken.
Of the total samples 6.5% were found to be either substandard
or carrying misleading labels.
All unsatisfactory cases were followed by warnings. There
were no cases considered suitable, by the Public Health
Committee, for prosecution.
