TUBERCULOSIS.
On 31st December, 1941, there were on the
Register 568 cases of Tuberculosis, of which 459
were pulmonary and 109 non-pulmonary cases. The
death rate for Pulmonary Tuberculosis was 0.53
per 1,000 of population, and for non-pulmonary
Tuberculosis 0.08 per 1,000 of population. The total
Tuberculosis death rate in 1941 was 0.61 per 1,000
of population, compared with 0.56 per 1,000 of population
in 1940. The corresponding death rates for
England and Wales in 1941 were: Pulmonary, 0.60
per 1,000 of population; non-pulmonary, 0.13 per 1,000
of population. Total rate, 0.73 per 1,000 of population.
