TUBERCULOSIS.
On 31st December, 1939, there were on the
Register 450 cases of Tuberculosis, of which 365
were pulmonary and 85 non-pulmonary cases. The
death rate for Pulmonary Tuberculosis was 048
per 1,000 of population, and for Non-pulmonary
Tuberculosis 0.08 per 1,000 of population. The total
Tuberculosis death rate in 1939 was 0.56 per 1,000
of population, compared with 0.57 per 1,000 of population
in 1938. The corresponding death rates for
England and Wales in 1939 were: Pulmonary, 0.53
per 1,000 of population; Non-pulmonary, 0.09 per 1,000
of population. Total rate, 0.62 per 1,000 of population.

Respiratory Forms of Death—35 out of 37 were notified.
Other Forms of Death—2 out of 6 were notified.
