PET ANIMALS ACT, 1951
A new Act for the regulation of the sale of pet animals came
into force in April, 1952. This Act requires all premises in which
animals are sold for pets to be licensed by the local authority.
In connection with this the Royal Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals prepared a draft list of conditions to which
licencees should conform, and Brentford and Chiswick Council agreed
to use a similar list.
Three premises were inspected and granted licences during the
year.
