CONTROL OF LICE INFESTATION.
The figures of verminous infestation of school children
obtained by the courtesy of the County Medical Officer seem to
demonstrate a very low level of infection.
There are no Statutory Powers whereby any of the population
other than school children can be examined for head lice, and as
there is no cleansing station in the Borough it is impossible to
estimate the cleanliness of the public through the use made of
such a station.
It is to be presumed, however, that the low level of infestation
of school children will be reflected in a clean condition of the
public as a whole.
Factory Welfare Officers and other persons likely to be
required to deal with cases of verminous infestation are encouraged
to obtain advice and help from the Public Health Department
staff.
