EDUCATION ACT, 1921.
REPORT OF THE MEDICAL INSPECTION AND TREATMENT
OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN FOR THE YEAR ENDING
31st DECEMBER, 1941.
To the Chairman and Members of the Education Committee.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
During 1941 the School Medical Service became more normal. All
clinics were re-opened hut fortnightly instead of weekly sessions were
held for Eye cases and Rheumatism cases.
This year, the Provision of Meals Acts, 1906-1914 were brought
into operation and canteens were opened in the following schools
Belmont, Hogarth, Strand and Lionel Road. Brentford Senior canteen
was opened at the end of last year and Staveley Road had had a scheme
of their own for over ten years. There are now cooking facilities
for 1310 children.
The incidence of Infectious Disease in the schools is indicated
in the following table:--
