(d) Tonsils and Adenoids (vide Table II and Table IV,
Group III).—During the year, 409 eases were found—299 at
Routine and 110 at Special Inspections. Of these cases, 244
(or 64%) required operative treatment, 97 being referred for
Tonsils only, 10 for Adenoids only and 137 for both Tonsils and
Adenoids.
In addition, 72 children were referred for other conditions
of the nose and throat, chiefly acute or sub-acute catarrh.
