(b) Tonsils and Adenoids: The Local Authority's arrangements
with the Chiswick Hospital for the operative treatment of
these defects was continued during the year. All straightforward
cases are, as a rule, admitted on a Friday, operated
upon on the Saturday and discharged on the Sunday. Com-
