Midwives— Maternity and Nursing Homes.
The number of midwives practising in the area was 17.
Queen Charlotte's Hospital (Goldhawk Road Branch) also sends
out midwives for work in the area. The Middlesex County
Council is the supervising authority in the case of the midwives
and also for the purpose of the Nursing Homes Registration
Act, 1927.
Maternal Mortality.
No special arrangements were made for the investigation
of maternal deaths and cases of Puerperal Fever by this
authority, but in all cases of Puerperal Fever arising, full
enquiries were made and copies of such enquiries transmitted
to the County Medical Officer.
