DEATHS.
The total deaths of residents occurring both inside and
outside the area during the year was 740, equivalent to an
Annual Death Rate of 11.75, as compared with 10.45 during
1932 and 12.3 for the whole country during the past year.
As is usual in this area, a very large number of deaths of
residents occurred in institutions. Actually 376 deaths so
occurred, the majority taking place in the institutions under the
control of the Middlesex County Council, situated in the
adjoining Borough of Heston and Isleworth.
The following tables are of interest:— Mortality in Age Groups.
Deaths under 1 year | 39 |
between 1 and 2 years | 8 |
„ „ 2 „ 5 „ | 16 |
„ „ 5 „ 15 „ | 24 |
„ „ 15 „ 25 „ | 23 |
„ „ 25 ,, 45 ,, | 80 |
„ „45 „ 65 „ | 190 |
over 65 years of age | 360 |
Total | 740 |
It will thus be seen that 360 persons dying during the year
—or approximately 48 per cent.— reached the age of 65 or over.
Further analysis of this figure shews the following:—
Deaths between 65 and 70 years of age | 80 |
„ „ 70 „ 75 „ | 84 |
„ „ 75 „ 80 „ | 84 |
„ „ 80 „ 85 „ | 71 |
„ „ 85 „ 90 „ | 33 |
„ „ 90 „ 95 „ | 8 |
Total | 360 |
