There were also seen during the year the following
children who are not attending School, a boy (age six years)
a Mongolian Imbecile; a boy (age nine years) an Imbecile;
and a boy (age 11 years) Feeble-minded. One Chiswick girl,
(age 11 years) who is Feeble-minded, was an inmate of a
Children's Home in the Country, and the Education Authority
was asked to arrange for her removal as she was unsuitable

Mentally Defective Children.

There are no Special Schools in Chiswick for the teaching of these children, but in Hogarth Senior Boys', Hogarth Girls' and Strand Boys' Schools, classes are arranged for these children together with those who are mentally retarded. In the following table some of those classified as "mentally retarded" are children who are probably "mentally deficient," but whose condition has not yet been definitely diagnosed:—
