Rodent destruction, in accordance with the methods
advocated by the Ministry of Food, has been continued.
The house refuse tip has been kept under observation,
but no serious infestation has occurred. In May a 10%
test baiting of the sewers was undertaken and the sewers
proved to be free from infestation.
Nomad caravan dwellers have been a source of
considerable trouble, as they have been to surrounding
districts.
In concluding I should like to thank you, Sir, for
the consideration you have shown me, and the members
of the staff for their support in carrying out the work
of the department.
FRANCIS V. BELL,
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
