Three samples of "coffee with milk" taken from vending machines were found in fact to be coffee
with skimmed milk. After consultations the proprietors of the machines arranged for the necessary
amendments to be made to the descriptive labels.
Samples of white and brown vinegarine, bottled within the Borough for export only, were found
to be satisfactory upon analysis although the labelling was considered by the Public Analyst to be
insufficiently detailed.
A blended vegetable oil was reported as not complying with the Labelling of Food Order. Legal
proceedings were eventually instituted and the Court held that the product was correctly labelled. Costs
were awarded against the Council.
