Old People's Workshop
Although the number attending the Council's Old People's Workshop at West Drayton has not
increased as had been hoped, the 20 people who do attend carry out work, which is provided by local
industry, and also enjoy the social contact and happy atmosphere which is found at the centre.
HOMELESS FAMILIES
The Council has two hostels for homeless families, Highgrove House at Eastcote and Mead House
at Hayes, the latter being a rehabilitation hostel where specialised instruction is given.
Highgrove House has accommodation for 15 families, and Mead House for nine families. During
1967 43 families were admitted to temporary accommodation.
