EDUCATION ACT, 1944—SECTION 34
The Education Authority is required to ascertain how many children in its area require special
education. The various categories of handicapped pupils are defined, and an explanation of these
conditions was given in the Report for 1965.

Fortunately, there are very few blind children, and for many years the total figure of blind pupils
in this borough has not exceeded 5.
