EDUCATION ACT, 1944—SECTION 34
The Education Authority is required to ascertain how many children in its area require special
education. The various categories of handicapped pupils are defined, and an explanation of these
conditions was given in the previous year's report. The "At Risk" Register was continued on the same
lines as previously, and the information made available through this means was used to get some idea
of the provisions that would be necessary for handicapped children in future.
