The Diseases of Animals Act, 1950
There are in the Borough 24 dairy farms and 42 piggeries; due to the staff position, action has
been largely confined to dealing with movement licences. The surveillance of stock moved into the
area under licence has had to be delegated to the Council's Veterinary Officer, with the exception of
animals destined for the local slaughterhouse or requiring a further movement licence.
There are 63 premises licensed under the Diseases of Animals (Waste Foods) Order 1957.
The Borough is not the enforcing authority for this Act in respect of London Airport.

No cases of notifiable disease occurred within the Borough.
