9. MORTUARY.
The Mortuary at Hampton continued to function satisfactorily and the number of
bodies admitted during the year was 793.
10. RAG FLOCK AND OTHER FILLING MATERIALS ACT, 1951
There are no premises in the Borough using rag flock and other filling materials.
11. DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACT, 1950
RIDING ESTABLISHMENTS ACTS, 1964 and 1970
ANIMAL BOARDING ESTABLISHMENTS ACT, 1963
PET ANIMALS ACT, 1951
The Corporation of London act as agents for the Council in respect of the above
Acts. The arrangements have worked very well and I am indebted to Mr. G. S.
Wiggins, M.R.C.V.S., Veterinary Officer to the Corporation of London, for his valuable
advice and help.
His report on the work carried out on behalf of the Council for the year ended
31st December, 1972 is as follows
Riding Establishments Acts, 1964 and 1970
Inspections were carried out at three riding establishments and recommendations
were submitted for re-licensing. One establishment closed down during the year.
Animal Boarding Establishments Act, 1963
Seven animal boarding establishments were inspected and recommended for relicensing.
One of these was a new establishment while another had re-opened having
been closed since 1969.
Pet Animals Act, 1951
Visits of inspection were made regularly to pet shops and 17 were recommended
for re-licensing. Three new shops were opened during the year.
Regulation of Movement of Swine Order, 1959
Two movement licences were received authorising the movement of pigs.
Performing Animals (Regulation) Act, 1925
Three visits of inspection were made to Television Studios in connection with the
use of animals in productions. Performances were witnessed, animals and certificates
inspected, etc., and all was found to be in order.
Two circuses were visited and inspections carried out of animals, quarters, equipment,
certificates etc., and all was found to be satisfactory.
General
Regular visits of inspection were made to the following premises:—
Piggery, Harvey Road, Hounslow
Seven visits were made and the premises were satisfactory.
Dairy Farm, Petersham Meadows Farm, Richmond
Conditions were excellent.
Kosher Butcher, Red Lion Street, Richmond
Conditions were very good.
Bushy Park and Richmond Park
Cattle, deer and sheep grazing in excellent conditions.
