SECTION D.—HOUSING.
1. Unfit Houses.
The demolition of unfit houses in Garden Road was completed early
in the year, and in June the Council made a Clearance Order in
respect of Nos. 4-10 (consecutive) Wellington Place.
One Closing Order made in 1937 was determined in respect of a
basement dwelling (45, Queen's Road) and undertakings to carry out
repairs at two basement dwellings (31, Evelyn Road and 84, Church
Road) were accepted and the premises were made fit for human
habitation. An undertaking as to repairs was also accepted in the case
of a house (7, Kew Foot Road), and the necessary works were in
progress at the end of the year.
