families from these areas was completed by the end of the year, and
altogether 56 families were found alternative accommodation. The
No. 2 Garden Road Area (16 houses) was represented to the Gouncil
in March and the Order was confirmed by the Minister in December.
Representations were made to the Council on one individual
unfit house, and one dwelling was demolished after a Demolition
Order had been made. Repairs to unfit basement accommodation
enabled the Council to determine two Closing Orders and to cancel
undertakings in respect of four other basement dwellings.
