Public Health Department,
Parkshot,
Richmond.
July, 1956.
To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors
of the Borough of Richmond (Surrey).
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present the Annual Report of the Medical
Officer of Health for the year 1955 upon the Sanitary Circumstances,
Sanitary Administration and Vital Statistics of the Borough.
The form of the report is similar to that for 1954 and is in
accordance with Ministry of Health Circular 17/55.
The report shows that the health of the residents has been
good during the year ; that there has been no undue incidence of
communicable disease and that good progress has been made in
eliminating any unsatisfactory circumstances.
I wish to record my appreciation of the loyalty and enthusiasm
of all members of my staff throughout the year, and to thank my
colleagues in other departments for their ready co'operation.
Finally, I wish to refer to the support and consideration always
given by my Chairman and all Members of the Council with whom
I have been concerned.
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
ERIC PEREIRA,
Medical Officer of Health.
