each instance, a nuisance order was made for the work to be carried
out within 28 days, and 3 guineas costs granted.
(2) Under Section 95, Public Health Act 1936, on the 27th
June, 1955, for failure to comply with a Nuisance Order, when the
owner was fined £2 with a daily penalty of 10 shillings if the work
remained outstanding after ten days.
(3) On the 20th January, 1955, an appeal was dismissed in the
Petty Sessions Court, where notice to provide a dustbin, under
Section 75, Public Health Act, 1936, had been served on the tenant
of the property.
COMPLAINTS.
The number of complaints received was 804, which is a decrease
of 26 compared with 1954.

Prompt investigation was made and suitable action taken to remedy
the complaints.
PETROLEUM (CONSOLIDATION) ACT 1928 AND
REGULATIONS MADE THEREUNDER.
Fifty-four premises within the Borough are licensed to store a
total of 66,000 gallons of Petrol, Petroleum Mixtures and Cellulose
solutions.
