TUBERCULOSIS.
The position in Richmond for the year 1952 may be summarised
as follows:—
NOTIFICATIONS:
Respiratory Tuberculosis.
Eighty-four cases of respiratory tuberculosis were notified viz:—
50 males and 34 females. The corresponding figure for 1951 was 61.
Non-Respiratory Tuberculosis.
Four new cases of non-respiratory tuberculosis were notified
during the year and there were no deaths from this cause. Seven
such cases have been notified during 1951.
TUBERCULOSIS REGISTER.

After all additions and deletions had been taken into account the number of cases of tuberculosis remaining upon the Register at the close of the year was as under:—

Three of the above deaths were due to other conditions but
affecting persons suffering from tuberculosis. This accounts for the
discrepancy between these figures and those of the Registrar General.
