TUBERCULOSIS.
The position in Richmond for the year 1951 may be summarised
as follows:—
NOTIFICATIONS:
Respiratory Tuberculosis.
Sixty-one cases of respiratory tuberculosis were notified, viz:—
29 males and 32 females. The corresponding figure for 1950 was 42.
Non-Respiratory Tuberculosis.
Seven new cases of non-respiratory tuberculosis were notified
during the year and there were two deaths from this cause. Seven
such cases have been notified during 1950.
TUBERCULOSIS REGISTER.
After all additions and deletions had been taken into account, the number of cases of tuberculosis remaining upon the Register at the close of the year was as under:—

PREVENTION OF TUBERCULOSIS.
Under the Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations
1925, powers are given to prohibit any person suffering from
respiratory tuberculosis from entering upon employment involving
the handling of milk.
Under the Public Health Act 1936 (Section 172) powers are
given to cause the removal and detention of any tubercular patient
